Nationality by option (origin)
*Birth Certificate of the applicant
*Identity Card or Passport
*If a parent (parents) is from Cape Verde your Birth Certificate is required.
*If nationality is via a grandparent is a "Cape Verdean" should submit your mother's or father's Birth Certificate and Certificate of Birth of your grandparent

Nationality through marriage:
*Application to the Registrar of the Central Registry, stating the applicants identity and the reason for submitting the request
*Marriage Certificate
*If the marriage took place outside the country, the Marriage Certificate has to be transcribed in the Central Registry
*Birth Certificate of the applicant
*Birth Certificate of the spouse with the registration of the marriage
*Photocopy of passport
*Certificate of Criminal Record from the country of residence

Nationality by naturalization:
*Photocopy of Residence Permit
*Application to the Ministry of Justice for the purpose of Request for Nationality
*Supporting document regarding income
*Photocopy of Passport - pages containing the identifying and containing the stamps of entry and exit from the country and their Visas;
*If you are a male citizen, proof of military service or dismissal from military service from your country of origin (confirmed by the Embassy or Consulate)
*Criminal Record Certificate issued in Cape Verde (or any other country that is at least not older than 6 months)
*Criminal record certificate issued in the country of origin;
*Request addressed to the Minister of Justice with complete identification of the applicant and the reasons for the request;
*Birth certificate issued in the country of origin and recognized by the Embassy or Consulate in Cape Verde;
*Declaration of SEF to prove that also resides there at least 5 years in the country.
*Written proof to be attached to the application, that the applicant that is not at the service of another state - presentation of documents by the Consular services from your country of origin.
